Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager-Construction is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of a construction company. This includes managing construction accounting, payroll, HR, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction industry practices and possess excellent accounting skills. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Service Titan, and knowledge of balance sheets and bills of materials are also required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of construction accounting, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and job cost accounting.
- Oversee payroll and HR functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Monitor and manage construction project budgets and track costs to ensure profitability.
- Review and approve all vendor and subcontractor invoices.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records and ensure compliance with all accounting standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to provide financial guidance and support.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
- Utilize QuickBooks and Service Titan to manage financial data and generate reports.
- Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting, preferably in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and accounting principles.
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
