As a Business Development Representative (BDR) , you will be a key member of the Marketing team. You will lead the development of new business and represent InRule Technology as the first touch in the sales cycle. You’ll have the opportunity to help grow our sales pipeline and act as the critical bridge between the sales and marketing lead lifecycle. This role reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely with both sales and marketing teams.  

Location : Chicago, IL (Hybrid) 

In this role you will :  

  • Play a key role in achieving our customer acquisition and revenue growth goals  

  • Pursue cold and warm leads - seek to increase sales by working with new contacts via telephone, email, LinkedIn and other methods 

  • Generate a robust sales pipeline through lead follow-up and targeted outreach, and scheduling of qualified sales demo meetings 

  • Conduct research and outreach to high-intent, ABM qualified accounts; and leverage data to identify and engage with the right personas at target companies  

  • Find new business. Conduct research into companies in specific market segments/verticals, identify key target personas and generate leads 

  • Make outbound calls, send emails and LinkedIn messages to qualify potential customers 

  • Understand our products and offerings, and our differentiation vs competitive solutions to effectively communicate value propositions, drive buyer-intent and competitive questions.  

  • Have meaningful conversations with prospective customers to understand the challenges they face and best position InRule solutions. 

You are a good fit for this role if you have

  • 1-2 years of experience as a BDR with demonstrated ability selling or building pipeline for Enterprise SaaS technical products/solutions 

  • Experience developing and driving effective account planning strategies to identify key decision-makers, understand customer needs, and tailor sales approaches accordingly 

  • Successful experience prospecting, including a track record of consistently securing initial meetings with prospective customers 

  • Experience with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies and tools like 6Sense and Demandbase. 

  • Enjoy building relationships, networking and creating new connections.  

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.  

  • Experience with marketing and sales tech such as Hubspot, Salesforce, Marketo, Zoominfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other tools 

  • Strong resilience, ability to overcome obstacles, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced sales environment.  

  • You find a way; focusing on solutions when resolving customer and sales deal challenges
