Position Overview:

A Project Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of a project. This includes monitoring project budgets, forecasting costs, managing billing and invoicing, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, experience with project accounting and construction accounting, and proficiency with accounting software, such as Dynamics 365. They should also have excellent budgeting and forecasting skills and be detail-oriented to track and analyze project expenses.

Locations: Ceres, CA

Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor project budgets to ensure they are in line with company goals and objectives
• Track project expenses and review invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare financial reports and forecasts for project managers and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Collaborate with project teams to develop and manage project budgets
• Generate and review project billing and invoices in a timely manner
• Perform regular budget variance analyses and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures
• Maintain accurate and organized project accounting records and documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, with experience in project accounting in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
• Proficiency with accounting software, such as Dynamics 365 preferred 
• Excellent budgeting and forecasting skills
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders
