Job Description

The SMT Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining surface mount technology (SMT) equipment and performing PCB assembly. 

This position will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the SMT process.

Responsibilities Include the following:

• - Set up and operate SMT machines and equipment
• - Load and unload materials onto the SMT machine
• - Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure proper placement of components on PCBs
• - Inspect boards for defects and troubleshoot any issues with the SMT process
• - Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
• - Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
• - Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines
• - Keep accurate records and documentation of production activities

Qualifications:

• - High school diploma or equivalent, with Associates or Bachelors degree a PLUS
• - At least 2 years of experience operating SMT machines in a manufacturing environment
• - Knowledge of SMT processes and equipment, including surface mount machines
• - Familiarity with PCB assembly techniques and electronic components
• - Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics
• - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
• - Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• - Basic computer skills and experience with data entry and record keeping
• - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• - Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
