Tax Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead our tax department and provide expert guidance on various tax matters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, planning, and strategy for both corporate and individual clients, ensuring all tax obligations are met while maximizing tax efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of corporate, individual, and partnership tax compliance and reporting.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize tax efficiency for clients.
  • Conduct tax research to stay current on tax laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.
  • Assist clients with entity choice decisions and multi-state tax considerations.
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide tax planning and consulting services to a diverse client base, including real estate, wineries, vineyards, estates, and trusts.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather necessary financial data and documentation for tax purposes.
  • Deliver presentations on tax-related topics to clients and staff, ensuring clear communication of complex concepts.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and interpersonal skills.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate, individual, and partnership tax regulations.
  • Experience with tax compliance, planning, and research, particularly in multi-state contexts.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax issues clearly.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Motivated and passionate about tax, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
