Temporary Administrative Tax Assistant Location Washington, DC :

This position is for the Winter 2024 tax busy season from mid-January 2024 through April 17 th , 2024 . This will be onsite in Withum's Bethesda, MD (DC) office location . This person will be responsible for providing a broad spectrum of support to the tax department in a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment. Requirements include people, communication, organizational, technical, and processing skills, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Applicants are expected to be on site in the office and need to thrive in a collaborative work environment.

This will also include weekends (Saturdays or Sundays) around deadline dates.

Essential Job Functions:

• Process, assemble and delivery of tax returns, extensions, and estimates
• Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods
• Scanning and/or download of client documents via firm software
• Work independently and collaboratively to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of workflows to meet deadlines
• Be a positive team player for the tax administrative team and tax department

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in business, accounting, or related field
• Experience in tax administrative support work, office practices and administrative procedures
• Tech savvy with the ability and desire to embrace necessary software applications
• Proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a sense of calm and humor
• Superior organizational, multi-tasking and follow-through skills with strong attention given to details and deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with all Microsoft applications
• Open to constructive feedback and on-going self-improvement

Software:

• Experience with the following software programs a plus:
  • CCH Access ("XCM")
  • GoSystem tax software
  • SurePrep/TaxCaddy
  • Box
  • SafeSend
  • Microsoft 365

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
